Longer-term Housing
With a vision of scaling our impact, Dignity has developed a number of longer-term housing programs. In collaboration with government and corporate partners, these innovative programs drive lasting reductions in the number of people experiencing homelessness.
Intergenerational Studios
In partnership with the Department of Communities & Justice NSW and other services, the innovative Intergenerational Studios provides an intergenerational model of housing. Young people (aged 18-24) and older people (aged over 55), who are experiencing homelessness, are housed together in a safe and supportive community for up to 12 months and supported with life-skills to prepare for ‘real world’ tenancy.
A recent review of the program analysed the social impact of Dignity Intergenerational Studios with a focus on the outcomes that resulted for young people, with the review finding that the program resulted in 100% reduction in homelessness, a positive impact on the lives of young people including improvement in health and wellbeing and a 75% increase in employment.

Ready To Work Housing
Ready To Work Housing in partnership with Fantastic Furniture, provides people experiencing homelessness with safe, stable housing for up to 12 months, an employment opportunity, and on-site support to ensure participants have the wrap around support they need to progress through the program.
In addition to stable housing and support, residents receive food relief, a mobile phone with free data and calls, and access to brand new clothing.

Transition to Work Housing

Transition to Work Housing is a new and innovative housing program designed to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness to increase their housing affordability through employment.
Recognising the barriers that many people experiencing homelessness face when looking for a job, the Transition To Work Housing program is delivered over 12 months and split into two phases: Work Readiness and Securing Employment.
Residents are provided stable housing, education, work readiness activity, employment opportunities, and wrap-around support empowering them to find their way forward and improve future financial and housing stability.
Transition to Lease
In Partnership with Homes NSW and NSW Government’s Homelessness Innovation Fund (HIF), Dignity’s new Transition To Lease Housing program is an innovative initiative designed to help families experiencing homelessness to secure private rental housing. Many families experiencing homelessness face barriers such as poor rental history, existing debts, or sudden life changes, which make it difficult to compete in the increasingly competitive rental market.
The Transition To Lease Housing program provides residents with a leased home, complete with furniture and appliances, along with essential support and tenancy education to support families towards a transfer of lease during the 12-month program period.
Stable housing, tailored wrap-around support and tenancy education will provide families with the opportunity for long-term tenancy success, empowering them to end their homelessness.
